Company

Before founding Nordalp, our team worked together for over 13 years at a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers. Through our many years of experience and close collaboration in the field of hardware and software development, we gained a wealth of experience.

Following MilDef’s strategic decision to fully focus on the defense and security sector, the company integrated Handheld’s defense portfolio into its core operations. As a result, Nordalp was founded as an independent venture by former Handheld employees. Nordalp continues the legacy by delivering high-performance rugged tablets, PDAs, and customized hardware and software solutions tailored for the industrial market.

Thus, Nordalp was founded in 2025 by the founding members from Sweden, Germany and Switzerland.
The company name reflects the close connection we have with each other and therefore consists of two parts.
The first part is "Nord," which refers to the Nordic countries and the team from Sweden.
The second part, "alp," stands for the Alps and thus for the team from southern Germany and Switzerland.
